“Fall” Hard Cider Spritz
Our favorite bright orange, summer sippin’ aperitif is making its way into our fall festivities! With the right balance of Aperol, rye whiskey, and hard cider, guests are bound to “fall” for this cocktail. Serve as a welcome beverage this Thanksgiving! This recipe serves four.
- Glassware of your choice
- Stir spoon
- Ice cubes
|Rye whiskey||2 ounces|
|Dry hard cider, chilled (we used Snow Capped 6130' Dry Hard Cider)||(2) 12 ounce bottles|
|Apple cider||4 ounces|
|Lemon juice||1 ounce|
|Quartered and thinly sliced unpeeled green and red apples||for garnish|
|Club soda||to top off|
For each cocktail, pour 6 ounces of hard cider, 1 ounce of apple cider, ½ ounce of rye whiskey, ¼ ounce of Aperol, and ¼ ounce of lemon juice into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top off with club soda. Gently stir to combine and garnish with an apple slice.
Tip from bon appétit: Instead of lemon juice, you can use fresh grapefruit or orange juice; bourbon is a great sub for rye.
