French 75 Boozicle
There is nothing better than a chilled martini on a hot summer day, except maybe a martini that is a popsicle. This recipe takes a spin on a classic martini and then puts Molly’s Spirits unique spin on that. The result is a refreshing Boozicle that is sweet, cold and delicious.
- Martini shaker
- (optional) pitcher, long spoon
- Jigger or measuring cup
- Cutting board and knife
- Popsicle mold, Ice tray
|Cognac, Gin, brandy or Whiskey||4 ounces|
|Fresh Lemon juice||4 ounces|
|Simple Syrup*||6 ounces|
|Sparkling wine||6 ounces|
Combine the cognac, gin, brandy or whiskey with the lemon juice and simple syrup into a martini shaker, fill with ice and shake. For larger recipes, use a pitcher and stir until the ingredients are well mixed. Strain (or pour) the mix into popsicle molds, ice tray (or whatever you have to make ice in) filling them halfway then top off with sparkling wine. Freeze for a few hours or until solid. You may have more mix than room in the tray, oh well guess you’ll have to drink that up first.
This boozicle can be stored in the freezer for up to six weeks. So make a bunch now and enjoy it pretty much all summer long.
*Simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water. For a simple way to make it, boil water in a tea kettle, measure out what is needed for the recipe (for 6 ounces simple syrup: 3 ounces water, 3 ounces sugar) and mix with the sugar, pouring slowly and mixing constantly.
