Aperol Spritz Tue, Dec 13, 22 | recipes We know we’ve said that rosé is the official wine of summer, but when it comes to summertime cocktail recipes– the Aperol Spritz takes home the gold medal! The Italian aperitif’s bright orange color and citrus, herbal notes create the base for the easy sipper. Those characteristics come from the infusion of bitter, oranges, roots, and herbs (Aperol’s secret recipe hasn’t changed since it’s introduction in 1919, so they must be doing something right). Even better news – the Aperol Spritz’s alcohol content is on the lower side so you stay refreshed while staying classy. The Aperol Spritz cocktail recipe, which first gained popularity in the 1950’s, is pretty easy – it’s basically 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, and 1 part club soda. For a twist that will impress all of your friends, use a sparkling rosé instead of prosecco! Aperol Spritz Recipe Supplies: Large bowl-style wine glass or glassware of your choice Ice cubes Ingredient Amount Prosecco (or sparkling rosé) 4.5 ounces Aperol 2.5 ounces Club soda 3/4 ounce Orange slice 1 slice for garnish Preparation: Pour prosecco, followed by Aperol, then club soda in a glass over ice (this order keeps the Aperol from settling at the bottom). Garnish with a slice of orange and sip all summer long!
