Molly’s Spirits harkens back to a time when beer, wine and spirits were even more celebrated than they are today. When liquor was a social icon synonymous with adventure, rebellion and freedom — one that made every occasion a special one.
Rufus Nagel founded the original Molly’s Spirits in Lakeside, Colorado in 2014, with the goal of doing things differently. He aimed to infuse technology into an otherwise-dated industry and provide an unparalleled experience to Coloradans while also honoring the industry’s history. This thinking, and the support of the Molly’s family, led him to earn a spot on Market Watch’s Leaders Class of 2019 for excellence in beverage alcohol retailing.
OUR HISTORY
Good question! Our name pays homage to iconic Titanic survivor and Denver socialite, The Unsinkable Molly Brown. The in-store experience at our Lakeside store and overall brand take heavy inspiration from Molly Brown and turn-of-the-century through prohibition-era vibes. To us, the name is more than that, though. It’s the driving force behind the spirit we aim to exude and the lifeblood of the Molly’s Magic that exists within us all.
Everyone knows a Molly. Laid back, but always the life of the party. She’s a gal who likes to have a good time, yet she always does it with a hint of class and sophistication. Our name pays tribute to all the Mollys out there. Magnetic. Unabashed. Adventurous.
OUR EXPANSION
Just like every Molly, each store is unique and has its own personality. We kept the core inspiration that is at the heart of Molly’s, and showcased a new era in the Denver Tech Center store, featuring a mid-mod, atomic future design aesthetic. As Molly’s continues to grow, the heart of who we are remains the same — spirited, feisty and independent, while paving the way for new eras of “Mollys” to join the fray.

We’ve curated a land of adult beverage discovery that combines the intimacy and boutique feeling of a corner bottle shop with the selection and convenience of a big box store. With three locations in the Front Range area and an expansive delivery offering, Molly’s has all of your boozy desires covered.
Our flagship locations in Lakeside and Greenwood Village have a selection of more than 12,000 adult beverages – including the largest Colorado spirits and beer selection, Colorado’s largest chilled wine and saké selection at Greenwood Village, world-class wine offerings and a first-of-its-kind collaboration program. With in-house cicerones and sommeliers on our team, you won’t find comparable customer service anywhere.
Molly’s Spirits focuses heavily on supporting the local community through nonprofit giving, event sponsorships and collaborations with local wineries, breweries and distilleries. We’re so grateful for the support of our community since we opened and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
