April Cocktail of the Month - Ultimate Palabra

Ahoy, April!  This month’s Cocktail of the Month, the Ultimate Palabra, was brought to everyone by our Spirits Department Manager in Greenwood Village, Chris.  It’s a twist on the classic cocktail, The Last Word.  From his words: “I really want people to be exposed to the versatility of mezcal.  I also want people to try out the Boomsma.  Traditionally, The Last Word is made with Green Chartreuse but since it’s no longer available, Boomsma-being relatively unknown- is the next best thing.” This is a refreshing spring time drink, perfect for the arrival of warmer weather and back patio sunsets.

Ingredients

EQUAL PARTS 3/4 OZ:

-Mezcal, we suggest Banhez Mezcal

-Maraschino Liqueur, we suggest Luxardo

-Boomsma Liqueur

-Lime Juice

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice.

2. Fine strain into a chilled glass or coupe cocktail glass.

3. Enjoy!

When finished, the Ultimate Palabra should have a soft, yellow hue with a touch of green.  We’re looking for a slightly smoky and herbaceous profile, cut with citrus and campfire flavors alongside alpine herbs and spices.  With the tasteful alpine notes, we’re not suggesting it would be a perfect cocktail for a 14er, but we’re also not-not suggesting this.
