February Brewery of the Month - Elevation Beer Co.

Elevation Beer Co. is an artisanal microbrewery located in Poncha Springs, Colorado, just outside Salida. Specializing in adventurous seasonal barrel-aged beers for the craft beer fanatic as well as a fantastic line-up of lagers, pale ales, and darker beers. Visit their tasting room and enjoy 16 beers on tap, 1 beer engine (a device for pumping beer from a cask) and beer to-go. Take in local art, live music, and a very cool patio tent for keeping the sun and snow out of your pint while you’re there.  We can’t recommend this place enough to anyone traveling to Poncha Springs or passing through the area.

8 Second Kolsch

The Head Brewer, Christian Koch, fell in love with this style of beer while visiting Cologne, Germany. Elevation Beer Co’s 8 Second Kölsch is brewed to be a true representation of this easy drinking crisp ale. First brewed as a special beer for the local rodeo, it quickly became a hit. Now a staple in their core brand, 8 Second is perfect for an everyday craft beer.

Cosmic Gazer

Cosmic Gazer is made with galaxy and citra hops and pours turbid gold with a white head.  The flavors produce a huge juicy tropical fruit aroma, restrained bitterness, a soft mouthfeel with passion fruit peach, and citrus fruit on the palate.
