November Cocktail of the Month - The Gold Fashioned

Thu, Nov 07, 24

November is here and so is our Cocktail of the Month, The Gold Fashioned! This is brought to everyone by our Spirits Department out of the Greenwood Village location. November is known for colder months, great outdoor exploration, and fun holidays with family and friends.  We’re leaning into the colors of fall with a citrusy, deep, and slightly spicy tequila-based cocktail- slightly orange and gold in color and hints of spice to finish…a tequila old-fashioned.

The Gold Fashioned is a simple drink based around four ingredients: Socorro Reposado Tequila, Jalisco Orange Liqueur, Ancho Reyes Liquor, and a few dashes of Angostura Bitters.

All ingredients are available at both locations.  If you happen to have made this cocktail and make a stop at our Greenwood Village location, let the team know your thoughts on it!

Cheers!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add all items into a shaker with no ice.

  2. Stir.

  3. Pour into a cocktail glass of your choice with a block of ice.

  4. Garnish with a dried orange slice or dried chili.
  5. Enjoy!

When finished, The Gold Fashioned should be a slightly orange/yellow-gold color, a beautiful autumn hue.  If you have it on hand, we suggest a dried orange slice, dried chili, or a sprinkle of chili flakes to bring out the spices and deep flavors of the reposado.  We’re noticing additional familiar flavors from an old fashioned, oak notes specifically from the Reposado, with a slight bitterness from the Angostura.  From Chris’ words: “this is a nice fall/winter cocktail to sip by a bonfire or have with a holiday dinner; not too heavy to bog you down but bold enough to stand up.
