Behind the Vine

The Founder

The foundations for the success of the Graham Beck brand were laid in 1983 when the late Graham Beck purchased Madeba, a farm located outside the Western Cape town of Robertson.

Determined to establish a world-class winery in this area, Beck built a state-of-the-art cellar along with a groundbreaking tasting facility. Soon, under his unwavering leadership and deep love for fine wines, the brand established an impressive reputation and became a leading international wine destination.

The Family

One of the most fundamental cornerstones of the Graham Beck ethos has always been that of family. Today, the company is led by Graham Beck’s son, Antony Beck, who is consistently inspired by the passion his parents displayed for the community and environment. It is important to the family that a legacy of generosity and passion lives on within all aspects of the business.

The Winemaking

Today, the Graham Beck team continues to pursue the perfect bubbly. They are constantly raising the bar in terms of quality and consistency while also refining their approach and technique. This foundation, combined with the efforts of acclaimed cellarmaster Pieter Ferreira and winemaker Pierre De Klerk, sets Graham Beck apart from other brands.

Variety: Pinot Noir 66%, Chardonnay 34%

Region: Western Cape, South Africa

Aromas: Raspberries, cherries and a few secondary whiffs of minerality.

Taste: A lively mousse, but fine in the mouth, with subtle red berry flavors enlivened by bright acidity. On the palate, it is bursting with flavors of freshly-crushed berries and hints of oyster shell.

Pairings: Charcuterie board with an assortment of creamy cheeses, salty crackers, berries and chocolate.

Molly's Staff Thoughts - Kellie's Pick

“Out of the thousands of wines we carry at Molly’s Spirits, Graham Beck Rosé is my #1 draft pick! Getting a classy, delicious rosé bubbles for under $20 simply can’t be beat. The Graham Beck Brut Rosé has all the hallmarks of a traditional and carefully-crafted bubbly with the added appeal of being flirtatious and fun. Graham Beck produces a full range of sparkling wines in various styles (8 in total) with one to compliment every moment, mood and meal. Or… perhaps every day of the week?

2 years ago, I took the long journey to South Africa to represent Molly’s Spirits on a wine trip to visit Graham Beck. Visiting South Africa was so amazing that I can’t wait to go back and bring my friends and family. The culture, weather and people make South Africa and Graham Beck so special!”
