Loveland Aleworks

Behind the Brew

The Story

The story of Loveland Aleworks starts with Nick Callaway, the owner, founder and head brewer. While in school at the University of Northern Colorado, Nick began home brewing on his back porch and joined the Brewnion Colony, a home-brew club where he developed many of his brewing recipes.

In 2006, Nick installed and commissioned Crabtree Brewing Company’s brewing system at their original location in Greeley, Colorado. This experience filled him with a desire to open his own craft brewery. In 2012, he made this dream a reality and opened Loveland Aleworks in downtown Loveland, Colorado.

The Philosophy

Nick Callaway leads with the mentality of brewing “simple, honest beer.” He utilizes his home brewing background and many years of experience to create a range of beers inspired by traditional European and American craft beer styles. It is important to Nick that the Loveland Aleworks beers are both consistent and great-tasting.

We love this commitment to high-quality product, and we were thrilled to collaborate with their team on A Fruit Less Traveled! It was a truly unique addition to our collab lineup that we know you’ll love.

Product Recommendation

Molly’s & Loveland Aleworks A fruit Less Traveled

Style: Barrel-Aged Sour

Taste: Exotic and aromatic with notes of pineapple, guava and strawberry from the Feijoa fruit.

Pairings: A Waldorf salad with creamy goat cheese

Molly's Staff Thoughts - Grant's Pick

“If you had heard of the feijoa fruit before now, then you are smarter than me. A very rare sighting of a South American fruit here in Colorado allow the tropical notes of this fruit to blend perfectly with the tartness of this barrel aged sour.”
